A New Direction - The Hardcore Scene

I've decided instead of just the same ole' blogging that everyone does that I'm going to suggest new artists and albums by said artists that I've recently discovered or have just been listening to a lot lately. The latter describes this blog better seeing that I don't have the funds to go out and by new albums frequently.

However, I've recently been listening to a few "hardcore" bands. I used to be really into the whole hardcore scene and I still listen to some bands from that genre from time to time. But recently the few bands that have peaked my interest in the genre have been as follows: Memphis May Fire, My Ticket Home, Like Moths To Flames, The Crimson Armada, The Plot In You and The Devil Wears Prada. Now I'll admit, I've always been a TDWP fan since I first heard them circa 2007. But the other bands have been an acquired liking for me. Hardcore music is pretty typical anymore. The classically overused breakdown after breakdown while the band hopes that their fans will start to mosh and hardcore dance to their concoction. But these few bands that I have listed have different sounds compared to the other. And I strongly suggest, if you haven't already, to check out them. All have recently released a new album within the last year or so. If you're going for a technical sound I would suggest Memphis May Fire, for typical but good upbeat The Crimson Armada and Like Moths To Flames, and for just straight up heavy then The Devil Wears Prada, My Ticket Home and The Plot In You are the way to go.

I support these bands fully and I do suggest them to any hardcore fan. If you're not a fan of hardcore, fret not. Because as I previously said, I'm not the biggest fan of it either. These are just the few that I do care for and like. I will cover different genres from rap to indie music that I think people may enjoy.
